My Bio
My name is Tony Shaw and I have been involved in the world of graphic art since August 2007.

My first encounter with graphic design came after I stumbled on a gallery by Peter Sharpe in 2005 whilst looking for some surreal wallpaper for my laptop. I remember being really impressed by what I saw and was amazed at how stunning and professional his work looked. I never thought I would ever produce images even approaching that quality. The only software I'd used up until then was Microsoft Paint.

Early in 2007 I re-visited Peter's site and purely by chance I happened to read one of his tutorials. I discovered that he produced the bulk of his work in Bryce and as a result I got hold of a free copy from DAZ Studio and loaded it onto my laptop. I have been helplessly addicted to it ever since. Unfortunately it appears that Peter's site no longer exists otherwise I would have provided a link to his gallery.

Since then I have expanded my design horizons and these days, as well as Bryce I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, DAZ Studio, Apophysis, Vue, Fractal Therapeutic Project & Terragen. I am now also trying to get to grips with ZBrush, TrueSpace, Incendia and 3D Studio Max ... there just aren't enough hours in the day!!!

My personal web site at www.tony-shaw.co.uk contains a few galleries to explore, namely Photoshop, Bryce, Apophysis, Vue & Terragen, however some of the images have been created by using 2 or more of these applications.

The majority of my work is displayed at the online art community Renderosity www.renderosity.com/mod/galler…
I am also a moderator and produce some of the animated gifs and grapphics on Digital Down Under digitaldownunder.net/ which is an Australian 3D graphic art site run by SpiritTina spirittina.deviantart.com/ and FifthElemental fifthelemental.deviantart.com/
I post here at deviantART as well where I am also an Admin for the Home-Of-Dragons club home-of-dragons.deviantart.com….
My username is 'tanglimara' on all these sites.

I am often asked how long it takes to produce each image, this varies greatly and can take anything from a couple of hours to a couple of days. I don't have any training in art except for what I did at school, and believe me that was a long time ago. To be honest I don't really have a clue what I'm doing most of the time, I just know that I have fun doing it.

Stock Images:- I have now taken the plunge and created my own stock account here on deviantART. - I only ask one thing, please leave a comment on the stock image when you've used it as I'd love to see your results ... plus I'll comment and :+fav: each and every one of them. - No other rules ... you can post your results on any other web-sites or order prints. Just have fun as that's what I believe stock images should be for as there are far too many stock accounts on here that have so many rules to obey that it's not worth the bother of downloading their images. My account can be accessed at ~Tanglimara-Stock (https://www.deviantart.com/tanglimara-stock) deviantART Clubs:-

Hi Tina,
I'm doing fine at the moment, I've been out of the digital art work for quite a while because I've been concentrating on my guitar but am now back into the artworld on a part time sort of basis. I'm posting the odd few images to DDU. Hope you are doing well. Nice to hear from you again.
Tony.

Tina
Thanks for the fave!! :shamrock:
Thanks heaps for the watch :)
No problems, I've been looking through your gallery and it's one of the best I've seen on DA. I'm getting so much inspiration from it.
Thank you very much for the lovely compliment. Im glad that my work inspires you. Its the hardest part of being an artist..finding inspiration and creating something different that doesn't look like every other piece posted in here. The biggest problem in here is that so many of the young lack imagination so they just copy styles and concepts. I dont know if its insecurity or just plain laziness or perhaps its the lack of being taught nowdays how to wake up that imagination.
